3rd Win for Adam this year!
Adam Blanchard won the Kings Valley RR today outside of Corvallis, OR. We had a really beautiful day for racing and the day unfolded well for the 3’s:
A photo of Adam crossing the line in another solo victory!
Or, is this is real photo of Adam crossing the line Superman style?! (From Kenji’s blog: http://obra3.blogspot.com/)
Results aren’t final yet, but I think Scott Gray was 6th and in the 1/2 field the Oliphants, Brant and Carl put in good solid efforts, coming in with the peloton just behind the lead break.
This from Adam:
I wanted to thank everyone for the work they did today. I went around
and talked to guys about getting to the front and picking it up on the
last lap, and I know it helped me get off the front on the climb I
wanted to. I was impressed how everyone got up there and threw in
attacks. Jerry especially did some huge pulls early to bring back a
lone guy who looked pretty strong.Bridging up to Jim Fischer (EWEB) was one hell of an effort - he is
super strong so look out for him in the future. I closed to within
100 yards of him about 10 miles from the finish, and I think we stayed
that way until 2k to go — he certainly wasn’t willing to sit up and
wait to work together, he made me work to catch him. Once I caught
him at 2k we rode easy together for a bit, then I picked it up at 1k
and he didn’t follow. He said he was cramping pretty bad, and I know
how helpless that feels. So good race everyone…
