I would just like to draw attention to the fact that we have 2
women — Lisa Turnbull and Jackie Cohen — down in California doing some
big races: San Dimas Stage Race and Redlands (NRC).
This last weekend was San Dimas Stage Race. The women’s field started
with 80+ riders, including full squads from both Columbia/HighRoad and
Colavita Pro Women’s teams, along with multiple groups of riders from
other pro-teams. Both our women fared well the entire weekend.
For those who aren’t familiar with San Dimas, it is a very popular
race down in CA which is known for its difficulty due to the racers
that usually show to prepare for Redlands the next week. Lisa ended
up 27th in the GC after placing extremely well (22nd) on the road
race. Jackie survived and did extremely well placing in the top half
at 42nd in the GC – (Only half of the women who started the race
finished on the GC list by the last day.)
Let’s wish these ladies the best as they head to Redlands this next
weekend! Nice job gals!
Karey
